Lineage continues to invest in the Buffalo, NY community and grow across Western New York through the acquisition of Business Imaging Equipment (BIE). Business Imaging Equipment is one of the oldest companies to sell and distribute office technologies and has been in business since 1998.
Summary:
• Lineage acquires one of the oldest sellers of office technology, Business Imaging Equipment, a long-standing Buffalo business that has been around since 1998.
• The acquisition is Lineage’s 2nd acquisition and their 3rd major purchase in 9 years in Western New York. It expands their services as an authorized, premier Konica Minolta dealer.
• BIE customers will now have access to upgraded technologies, better customer service capabilities, improved service response time, updated competitive pricing, and a new channel for online invoice payment.
On the acquisition, Lineage CEO Rich Williams remarks on the importance of the acquisition: “It speaks to tradition, which is a hallmark of our culture and values. We span across 6 states, but our company started in Buffalo. We see this as an opportunity to invest in the community by taking a strong company, bringing it into our fold, and taking it to its next level of business.” Lineage started in 1984 with under 500 clients and 5 employees. The company, in Western New York alone, now serves over 3000 clients and has more than 27 employees.

BIE is one of the oldest distributors of office technologies, dating back to 1998. A key component of the acquisition is that BIE is a Konica Minolta dealer, and, since Lineage has been a premier authorized dealer for Konica Minolta since 2012, it was an important factor in acquisition discussions. Konica Minolta is a corporate giant with over a century of innovation, and wide-ranging expertise in digital, optical, and electronic technology. BIE predominantly sells Konica Minolta copiers and multi-function printers, and Lineage will now be managing and servicing their 300+ machines around the Buffalo area.
BIE will be closing its location and moving its operations into Lineage’s Buffalo office, located at 385 North French Road, Amherst, NY 14228. Customers will continue to receive their expected services, with expanded access to mailing hardware, software, and outsourced solutions. BIE customers can also expect several improvements to their experience with both their equipment and new office equipment partner, including easier access for service calls and a new way for online payment and invoicing. They’ll also get a variety of upgraded technologies, such as a new seamless reporting software and an Al that monitors customer happiness. These customers will also have exclusive access to Lineage’s cost-effective pricing as a Konica Minolta premier dealer.
